Live the sailor's life on a boat and become part of an active crew that hoists the sails and takes care of all onboard tasks. Learn the basics of sailing and enjoy nights in untouched coves and picturesque harbors. Depending on the area, there are also land excursions, but the focus is clearly on unforgettable moments at sea.

How challenging is the tour?

• During our week, we cover about 140 nautical miles.
• During the day, we are usually on the move for 3 to 6 hours (including swimming stops).
• No sailing experience is necessary for the tour, but being able to swim independently for 20 minutes is a must.

This tour is right for you if you meet the following criteria:

• You should be motivated to contribute to the daily sailing routine of the crew. This includes sailing itself, food preparation, and cleaning up and washing dishes after meals.

Awesome Crew:

• We sail in a flotilla of 1 - 6 yachts, each with 8 - 10 participants.
• Sailors from all over the world (on-board language is English).
• Approximately 80% of participants are young professionals aged between 27 - 33.
• Specially trained JTC skippers from our Skipper Academy.

Harmonious Distribution:

• 50/50 gender mix (with full occupancy up to 2 weeks before the start of the trip).
• Good balance of singles, couples, and small groups.
• For a group of more than 4 people, you should book your own yacht & skipper.
• We'll carefully match you with the crew that best suits you.
• If you have any preferences, please let us know in the booking form.

• Right after booking, you'll receive access to our crew chat.

Tour operation:

• All dates will be confirmed starting from the second booking.

Depending on the date, you can book one of the yacht standards listed below. All yacht standards have everything you need to sail safely with your crew and experience the vacation of a lifetime. All boats include, for example, a fully equipped kitchen, bathing platform, audio system, and a dinghy with outboard motor. The yachts and catamarans of the Classic Plus class are generally newer, offer more space per person, and may have additional extras for more comfort on board.

Easy payment:

• Deposit: 30% of the tour price upon booking.
• Final payment: 6 weeks before the start of the tour.
• Payment methods: Bank transfer, Credit card, ApplePay, AndroidPay, Klarna.

Reserve 5 days at no cost:

• Simply choose 'reservation' in the booking form.
• Reservations are possible until 6 weeks before the start of the tour.
• If you don't book, the reservation will automatically expire after 5 days.

Cooking or Dining Out:

• We usually prepare our meals on board.
• On some days, we'll have the option to go out for dinner on land.
• While cooking, we can form pairs so that everyone takes a turn cooking or washing up. However, most people generally help out.

Advance Planning:

• In the crew chat, we can discuss meal and beverage planning before the sailing trip.
• If you have any intolerances or allergies, please share this in the crew chat beforehand so that we can consider it during shopping.

Shopping:

• On the first day of the tour, we will plan our shopping together using the JTC shopping list, which you can find in your crew area under "My Tours."
• As a crew, we will buy all the groceries for our week together.
• Everyone should bring two large fabric bags so that we don't have to use plastic bags on-site.
• If the supermarket is not within walking distance, we can have the groceries brought to the harbor by taxi.
• During the trip, we'll have the opportunity to buy small items on land.

Arrival:

• Airport: Dalaman.
• Our Marina: Yacht Classic Hotel Marina Fethiye.
• Your route on Google Maps from the airport to the marina.

Check-In:

• Your crew will meet at 1:00 PM in a café, which will be announced in the crew chat.
• If you arrive late, please inform your skipper.
• We will leave the starting port on Sunday morning.

Check-Out:

• At the end of the trip, we'll reach our destination harbor on Friday around 5:00 PM as scheduled.
• We'll spend the last night in the harbor and leave the boat on Saturday at 9:00 AM.

How do I book my flight?

• Ideally, book your arriving flight so that you arrive in time for the first meeting at the café (or the day before, so you’re more rested and can meet some of your crewmates).
• Your returning flight should be scheduled for Saturday at the earliest, around 12 noon, so you can enjoy a relaxed breakfast with your crew. If this is not possible, you can book the return flight for 7:00 PM on the last day.

What should I pack?

• Most crew members travel with only hand luggage. In any case, you should use a soft bag because a hard suitcase takes up too much space in the cabin.
• Important for Sustainability: Bring biodegradable hygiene products (shampoo, sunscreen, etc.).
• For sleeping outdoors under the starry sky, you should bring a sleeping bag.
• Towels, pillows, pillowcases, wool blankets, and a mattress sheet are provided on almost all trips.
• The crew fund does not need to be brought in cash. All expenses can be paid on site by card or withdrawn in cash.

Mobile Reception & Electricity

Mobile Reception:

• Generally good coverage on most days of our route.
• Depending on the bay, weather, and distance, there may be times without reception.
• Roaming fees may apply depending on your provider.
• At the airport, you can purchase a local SIM card.

Electricity:

• Smartphones and other small devices can be charged onboard via the 12V socket.
• In most ports, larger devices like cameras and laptops can be charged using shore power (220V) during docking.
• A power bank is strongly recommended.

Currency, Prices & Tips

Currency:

• Payments are made in Turkish Lira (TRY).
• Payment with credit card is possible.
• In smaller shops and markets, cash is usually preferred.

Prices:

• Restaurant visit: Approximately €15 to €25 per person.
• Examples: Inexpensive meal: €5, Local beer: €2.50, Cappuccino: €2.
• Grocery prices may vary depending on the store, location, and offers.

Tips:

• Average tip: about 10%.

• Hospitality is a central aspect of Turkish culture, especially in the regions of Dalaman, Ekincik, and Marmaris, where locals often warmly welcome tourists and invite them for tea.
• Traditional Turkish cuisine plays an important role, with dishes like meze, fresh fish, and regional specialties like the famous Turkish kebab or baklava.
• Festivals and customs, such as celebrating weddings and religious holidays, are deeply rooted in rural areas and cities, often featuring music, dance, and traditional clothing.
• Handicrafts, particularly carpet weaving and ceramics, are made in the region, and many local markets offer handmade products as expressions of regional culture.

Safety in the Country

• The Turkey region, particularly Dalaman, is considered safe for solo travelers.
• Keep important documents and cash secure.
• A printed or digital copy of your documents is advisable.
• General warnings are issued for pickpocketing.

Entry Requirements & Vaccination

For German Citizens:

• A valid identity card or passport is required.

For Other Nationalities:

• Please check the current entry requirements on the website of the Foreign Office before booking.

Vaccination:

• No mandatory vaccinations are required for entry.
• Your standard vaccinations, according to the vaccination schedule of the Robert Koch Institute, should be up to date.
