Key data

Perfect for your first sailing trip. No experience is needed – our experienced skippers will show you everything you need to know. Live the sailor's life on board, become part of the crew, learn the basics of sailing and discover why so many people fall in love with life at sea after just one trip.

How challenging is the tour?

  • We will cover approximately 110 nautical miles during our week.
  • During the day, we are usually active for about 3 to 6 hours (including swimming stops).
  • No sailing experience is required for this tour.
  • Being able to swim freely for at least 20 minutes is a must.

This tour is suitable for you if you meet the following criteria:

  • You should be motivated to contribute to the daily sailing activities with the crew. This includes sailing itself, meal preparation, as well as cleaning up and washing dishes after meals.
  • You should be physically fit for a short walk to the Tripitos Arch. A 3-hour walk along natural paths should not be a problem for you.

Your Crew:

  • The onboard language is English.
  • Most guests book as solo travellers.
  • You’ll be sharing the boat with an amazing crew of people from all over the world.
  • On every boat: JTC skipper from our Academy.
  • Right after booking, you’ll get access to the group chat for all participants.
  • The crew chat opens after the crew allocation, approximately two weeks before the start of the trip.

Cabin & Crew Arrangement:

  • If the yacht is fully booked up to two weeks before departure, we aim for a 50/50 gender mix on board.
  • Your cabin mate will be of the same gender.
  • Couples and small groups are relatively rare.
  • Groups of 4 or more should book their own private yacht. More info here!
  • Any preferences regarding crew allocation can simply be added in the booking form.

Our Flotilla (Multiple Yachts):

  • All yachts booked for the same dates travel together as one flotilla.
  • During the day, the yachts regularly meet while sailing.
  • Shared swimming stops are planned spontaneously on site.
  • If we don’t cook dinner on board, we usually go to the same restaurant together.
  • At night, each yacht either anchors separately or we raft the yachts together.
  • Shore activities are organised together as a group.

  • All yachts are exclusively reserved in advance for our crews.
  • If there are multiple options available for a specific date, you can choose the yacht standard that suits you best.
  • Detailed information about the yacht standard can be found in the respective description.Your exact yacht model will be announced after the crew allocation, approximately two weeks before the tour starts.
  • Most trips take place on classic sailing yachts (monohulls). You can find an overview of all catamaran trips here.

Reserve 5 days at no cost:

  • Simply choose 'reservation' in the booking form.
  • Reservations are possible until 6 weeks before the start of the tour.
  • If you don't book, the reservation will automatically expire after 5 days.

Cooking or Dining Out:

  • We usually prepare our meals on board ourselves.
  • On some days, we have the opportunity to eat out ashore in the evenings.
  • When cooking, we can form teams of two, so that each person takes turns cooking/washing up. However, everyone usually helps out anyway.

Preparation in advance:

  • In the crew chat, we can discuss meal and beverage planning before the tour begins.
  • If you have any intolerances or allergies, please inform us in advance in the crew chat so that they can be taken into account during shopping.

Shopping:

  • On the first day of the tour, we plan our shopping together using the JTC shopping list. You can find this in your crew area under "my tours".
  • As a crew, we all buy groceries together for our week.
  • Each person should bring two large cloth bags so that we don't have to use plastic bags on site.
  • If the supermarket is not within walking distance, we can have the groceries delivered to the harbor by taxi.
  • During the tour, we have the opportunity to buy small items on land.

Arrival:

Check-In:

  • Your crew meets at 1:00 PM in a café, which will be announced in the crew chat.
  • If you're going to arrive late, inform your skipper.
  • We leave the starting port on Sunday morning.

Check-Out:

  • At the end of the trip, we reach our destination port as planned on Friday around 5:00 PM.
  • We spend the last night in the harbor and leave the boat on Saturday at 9:00 AM.

How do I book my Flight?

  • Ideally, you should book your flight so that you arrive in time for the first meeting in the café (or the day before, so you're more rested and can meet some of your fellow sailors).
  • Your departure should ideally be no earlier than Saturday around 12:00 PM so you can have breakfast in peace with your crew after the week. If this is not possible, you can book the return flight for 7:00 PM on the last day.

  • For sustainability, it's important to bring biodegradable hygiene products (shampoo, sunscreen, etc.).
  • For nights under the starry sky, bring a sleeping bag.
  • Towel, pillow, pillowcase, wool blanket, and a bed sheet for the mattress are provided on most trips.

Preparation & Getting to Know Each Other

Preparation & Getting to Know Each Other

All crew members and skippers of our flotilla meet on Saturday at 1:00 PM. at a café near the harbor. Your skipper will post the exact location in the crew chat. There we will meet for the first time and plan our week's shopping. Typically, we need up to 3 hours for shopping, so if logistics take a little longer, please be patient - Saturdays in the harbor can be chaotic. After storing our provisions and settling into our bunks, we start with a safety briefing and have time to relax. Now that we've mastered our first day as a crew and have prepared the yacht to set sail the next day, there's only one question left: Shall we make dinner on board or go to a restaurant?

Lakka Bay
Join The Crew
Lakka Bay

Lakka is a must when sailing around Corfu. In the second largest village on the island of Paxos, we anchor in the turquoise waters in front of the small harbor. Using the dinghy, we reach the shore, stroll through winding alleys with pastel-colored houses, and later indulge in the menu at the Alexandros restaurant. Later, how about some Greek wine at the tavern by the harbor?

Mediterranean Charm

Mediterranean Charm

Our next stop: Gaios, a charming little harbor town with everything a Greek heart desires – from cozy restaurants to cute cafés and lively bars. We’ll stroll through the winding streets, soaking up the Mediterranean atmosphere. For those interested, there’s an opportunity in the afternoon to take a short walk (about 2 hours) to the west side of the island. There, we’ll find the famous Tripitos Arch – an impressive rock bridge and a popular photo spot. Don’t forget to pack your cameras; the view is worth it!

Dropping Anchor in the Archipelago

Dropping Anchor in the Archipelago

We drop anchor in the hidden Syvota Archipelago. The ancient Greeks once fought battles here! Things are a little less bloody with us. Our motto: Keep cool instead of firing cannonballs, and swap scurvy for snacks and a dip in the sea. If you take a photo here in the right conditions, your loved ones back home might laugh at you: When the water is especially blue, it looks like we've Photoshopped our boats into the picture!

Indigo or Turquoise?
Join The Crew
Indigo or Turquoise?

Is it indigo or Turquoise? Either way, the water at Voutoumi Beach is fantastic! Every time we set sail from Corfu, we look forward to this curved bay, the grilled squid at its restaurant, and the snorkeling at its reef. Plus, with our own yacht, we stay even after the tourists leave. So, we often have this little paradise all to ourselves in the evening.

Colorful Houses

Colorful Houses

The small town of Parga enchants with its colorful houses and winding alleys right by the water. On the outskirts of the town, on a hill, stands the Venetian Castle of Parga, originally built for protection against pirates. Hidden in a bay near Lichnos Beach is the Cave of Aphrodite, where the goddess of love is said to have bathed.

Time to say Goodbye

Time to say Goodbye

Today it's 'Time to say goodbye'. The final check-out is at 9:00 AM, which means we must leave the boat clean by then. Ideally, your departure should not be earlier than Saturday at 12:00 PM so you can have a relaxed breakfast with your crew after a week of sailing. If that's not possible, you can book your return flight for Saturday at 7:00 AM for the earliest
