Experience a wild variety of outdoor activities, then later relax in our cozy cabin where we plan the next day according to our hearts' desires. Should we go for a mountain hike or chill by the water? The choice is yours.

How challenging will the tour be?

• For most participants, the biggest challenges are the outdoor activities and snow hikes in subzero temperatures.
• Our hikes usually last 2 - 6 hours (including breaks), with 100 - 300 meters of elevation gain.
• The hiking times listed in the daily descriptions refer to pure walking time (without breaks).

This tour is suitable for you if you meet the following criteria:

• You are motivated to participate in outdoor activities in the snow, even in sub-zero temperatures.
• You are open to living with your group in a holiday house with limited privacy and contributing to daily tasks.
• For the optional snowmobile tour, you will need a valid driver's license (as a passenger, no license is required).

• Open-minded solo travelers aged 20 - 39.
• Travelers from all over the world (on-tour language is English).
• Approximately 80% of travelers: Young professionals aged 27 - 33.
• Specially trained JTC guides from our Guide Academy.

Harmonious Division:

• The crew division is always harmonious. Most of the crew are solo travelers with the occasional couple or small group.
• If there are multiple accommodations available for a date, you can book the one that suits you best.
• If there are multiple similar accommodations available when booking, we will assign you to the crew that best suits you with lots of love. You will always find a corresponding note during your booking in this case.
• If you have any preferences regarding the accommodation, please let us know in the booking form.

Crew Chat:

• Immediately after booking, you will receive the access details for our crew chat. Say "Hey Crew 😍🤙" and exchange information about the arrival!

Tour operation:

• All dates will be confirmed starting from the third booking.

All vacation homes have been carefully selected and booked exclusively for you. They have everything you need to enjoy the holiday of a lifetime. A fully equipped kitchen, a common room, and maybe even a beautiful outdoor area provide all the modern creature comforts in this natural setting.

Easy payment:

• Deposit: 30% of the tour price upon booking.
• Final payment: 6 weeks before the start of the tour.
• Payment methods: Bank transfer, Credit card, ApplePay, AndroidPay, Klarna.

Reservation for 5 days:

• Possible until 6 weeks before the start of the tour.
• Choose reservation in the booking form.
• If you don't book, the reservation will automatically expire after 5 days.

Cooking or dining out:

• During the tour, we mainly cater for ourselves.
• We have breakfast together and usually prepare a packed lunch.
• In the evenings, we can go to a restaurant to enjoy the local cuisine, cook together, or order from a local delivery service.

Preparation in advance:

• In the crew chat, we can discuss meal and beverage planning before the tour begins.
• If you have any intolerances or allergies, please inform us in advance in the crew chat so that they can be taken into account during shopping.

Shopping:

• On the first day of the tour, we plan our shopping together using the JTC shopping list. You can find this in your crew area under "my tours".
• As a crew, we all buy groceries for our week together.
• Each person should bring two large fabric bags for this purpose.
• During the tour, we can buy additional items as needed.

Arrival:

• Airport: Kittilä.
• The distance from the airport to the accommodations in Levi is about 20 km, and to the accommodations in Ylläs, it's about 50 km. You can find the specific location in the house description.
• You can arrange to travel together in the crew chat and share a taxi from the airport to the accommodation if needed.
• The exact address of the accommodation will be displayed in your login area after booking.
• Your guide will provide you with tips for the best way to arrive in the crew chat after booking.

Check-In:

• Our tour starts on Saturday at 5:00 PM with the first meeting of our crew at the accommodation.
• If you're arriving late, please inform your guide.

Check-Out:

• The tour ends on the last day of the tour with our check-out from the accommodation by 9:00 AM.

How do I book my flight?

• Ideally, book your flight so that you arrive in time for the first meeting (or the day before if you want to be more rested and meet some of your fellow travelers).
• Your departure should preferably be no earlier than 12:00 PM on the last day of the tour so that you can have breakfast with your crew. If that's not possible, you can book your return flight in the early morning.

• WiFi available in the accommodation.

• A power bank for hikes is recommended.

Currency, Prices & Tipping

Currency:

• Payments are made in Euro.
• Cashless payments with credit cards are widely accepted and even preferred.

Prices:

• Restaurant visit: Approximately 30 - 60 € per person.
• Examples: Inexpensive meal: €12 , Local beer: €7, Cappuccino: €4.50
• Food prices may vary depending on the store, location, and offerings.

Tipping:

• Finland does not have a tipping culture, meaning that no tipping is expected in restaurants, bars, and cafes. A service charge is already included in the bill.

Culture

• The Finns are considered the happiest people in the world.
• Levi is a small lively village in the middle of the wilderness with only 650 inhabitants and is a very popular ski and tourist area in Finland.
• Here, you can find the cleanest air in the inhabited world.
• Sauna is a part of Finnish culture, and Levi, with over 2000 saunas, is no exception.

Safety in the Country

• Finland is considered a safe country for solo travelers.
• Keep important documents and cash safe.
• Having a printed or digital copy of your documents is recommended.
• There is a general warning against pickpocketing.

Entry Requirements & Vaccination Protection

For Schengen area citizens:

• A valid identity card or passport.

For other citizens:

• Please check the current entry requirements on the website of your Federal Foreign Office before booking.

Vaccination Protection:

• No vaccinations are required for entry.
• Your standard vaccinations, according to the vaccination schedule of the Robert Koch Institute, should be up to date.
• For any questions, consult your general practitioner (or a specialist in tropical medicine).
