Cliffs, culture, and cuisine – this trip leaves nothing to be desired. Navigating the historic waters between Elba (Napoleon's legendary island of exile) and Corsica (his untamed birthplace), we spend our time exploring small, picturesque harbors, unspoiled nature, and unique, secluded swimming spots. Yet, beyond discovering these hidden gems, we also embrace the thrill of the open water, putting in the miles and enjoying plenty of authentic sailing action along the way.
Viva l'Italia! We're indulging in plenty of sailing action, swimming fun, and partying. And if the sailing fairy is kind to us, we might even see some dolphins!

All crew members and skippers of our flotilla meet on Saturdays at 1:00 PM in a café near the harbor. Your skipper will post the exact location in the crew chat. There, we'll get to know each other for the first time and plan your weekly shopping. Experience tells us that shopping can take up to three hours, so if the logistics take a little longer, please be patient – a Saturday in the harbor can sometimes be chaotic. After we've stowed our provisions and settled into our bunks, we'll start with a safety briefing and then have some time to relax. Now we've successfully completed our first day as a crew and the yacht is ready to set sail tomorrow. The only question remaining is: How will we get to know each other as a flotilla – by cooking on board or going to a restaurant?

Perched on the island's mountain ridge lies the medieval village of Giglio Castello. Strolling under the archway and past the village's small staircases, you'll experience a truly medieval atmosphere. Overlooked by the Aldobrandesca castle, Giglio Castello is considered one of Italy's most beautiful villages. In the village's wine cellars, you can sample the island's own strong, amber-colored Ansonica wine.

The unique Gulf of Viticcio on Elba's north coast with its unspoiled landscape is a great opportunity for a dip in the cool water and to enjoy the romantic sunset.

Bastia enchants us with its small, narrow streets, Corsican delicacies at the local market, joie de vivre, and a truly special atmosphere. The Church of Saint-Jean-Baptiste is the largest in Corsica and can be seen from afar. As the sun sets, it bathes the entire city in a magical light. Whether below deck or relaxing in a restaurant, we're already looking forward to our next stop here while sailing towards back to Elba.

Half of Elba's population lives in the island's capital, which has 16,000 inhabitants. Those who simply want to relax after an active day of sailing can take a short walk to the town's bathing beach, "La Ghiaie," with its white pebbles, and enjoy the clear water with Forte Falcone as a backdrop, or watch the hustle and bustle of the harbor while enjoying a homemade Italian gelato.

The bay with its azure water, surrounded by steep cliffs and sheltered from the sea by a promontory, is considered the most beautiful bay for sailing around Elba. A long sandy beach stretches out here. In high season, sunbathers lie towel to towel, but in the off-season it's a different story.

On the island's east coast lies Marina di Capraia. Until the late 1980s, Capraia was a prison island; today, the former penitentiary on the ridge north of the marina can be visited. After a stroll through the picturesque little streets, we arrive at the imposing Genoese fort, which towers above the sea. Another 300 meters further on, the watchtower offers a magnificent view of the harbour.

Today it's time to say goodbye. Final check-out is at 8:00 AM, which means we need to leave the boat clean by then. Ideally, your flight should depart on Saturday after 12:00 PM so you can enjoy a leisurely breakfast with your crew after a week of sailing. If that's not possible, you can book your return flight from 7:00 AM on Saturday.
