Die Folgen vom Hurrikan Dorian
Am 01.09.2019 traf Dorian mit voller Wucht auf die Abacos-Gegend in den Bahamas – nördlich von unserem Segelrevier in den Exumas. Während Dorian über 2 Tage auf den Inseln wütete, richtete er unheimlichen Schaden an und zerstörte nahezu alles in dieser Gegend. Gerne möchten wir euch nachfolgend ein paar Fragen zu unserem Bahamas-Törn beantworten.
Findet mein Törn im Februar statt?
Bisher ist bei uns noch nie ein Törn ausgefallen und dies gilt auch für die Bahamas. Dein Törn im Februar auf den Bahamas wird also auf jeden Fall stattfinden!
Sind die gebuchten Boote noch erhalten?
Unser Partner, Dream Yacht Charter, konnte vor dem Hurrikan alle Boote, die in Marsh Harbour stationiert waren, nach Nassau in Sicherheit bringen. Da dieses Gebiet nicht von Dorian betroffen war, sind alle Boote völlig unbeschadet und dein Törn wird auf dem von dir gebuchten Boot stattfinden. Welcher Teil der Bahamas war vom Hurrikan betroffen?
Auf der Karte siehst du die Bahamas, welche sich in unterschiedliche Regionen unterteilen. Im Norden befinden sich die Gran Bahamas und Abacos, welche von dem Hurrikan Dorian stark betroffen sind. Beide Bahamas Törns werden nun ab Nassau starten und wir werden die Inselwelten der Exumas und Eleutheria erkunden. Diese Region stand unter keinem Einfluss von Dorian.
Habe ich mit Einschränkungen bei der Anreise zu rechnen?
Auf diese Frage können wir mit einem klaren NEIN antworten. Auch Nassau, von wo aus unser Törn starten wird, hat nichts von dem Hurrikan abbekommen und der Flugverkehr läuft hier ganz normal weiter. Lediglich die Flughäfen in den Abacos sind in Mitleidenschaft gezogen worden, welche für unsere Törns aber nicht relevant sind.
