Our canoe tours are designed for those who love water and want to experience the wilderness up close and personal. Paddle through calm waters, listen to the sounds of nature, and find peace away from the everyday hustle and bustle.
We connect canoes into floating islands, laugh together while navigating locks, and enjoy playful moments in the water.
We cook and share stories by the campfire. Life at the camp is simple - even the restroom is outdoors.
Under the starry sky, we share stories, laughter, and enjoy the silence of the night. It's a moment that can only be experienced in nature.
With each paddle stroke, we delve deeper into the untouched wilderness. Rivers and lakes become rugged pathways.
The canoe tours are suitable for beginners. You don't need to have canoeing experience, but you should be a confident swimmer.
Like almost all tours at JTC, the canoe tours are aimed at those of average fitness levels.
At the beginning, you'll receive an introduction to canoe paddling technique. The canoes need to be loaded and unloaded with our gear every day, and sometimes carried along with all our belongings.
Unfortunately, we can't control the weather, so if we encounter headwinds, it can be more strenuous.
For specific information about the difficulty level and requirements of each canoe tour, refer to the respective tour description.
Yes, there is electricity available at the campsites to charge smartphones. However, for added convenience and security, we recommend bringing a power bank with you. Then you and your battery are 100% safe.
No, you don't need any special equipment. We recommend bringing a dry bag and rain gear, although we always assume these are for safety and hope we won't need them. ;) You can find a packing list for our canoe trips here.
Then we paddle anyway. If there's a thunderstorm warning or other dangers, we won't go out on the water. Our guide will decide how to proceed safely with the tour based on the situation and location.
